This weekend I saw the greatest art installation ever. Seriously. And I’ve seen a lot of cool installations but this one takes the cake! This thing needs to end up in the MCA or AI’s new wing.
The physical installation is intriguing and full of interesting + thoughtful elements. Add the layers of brilliant video + audio elements and you have the most engaging piece of art I have seen in a long time.
The details (because you MUST go see this thing) -

Here’s my most recent graffiti time lapse edit from 2004. So what! ...it ain’t brand spankin’ new. Some things hold their flavor through time, and need to be savored rather than consumed/digested/ & regurgitated before it’s hype dies down. That’s Babah Fly on the audio track. Again, I ain’t servin’ you fresh, hot french fries. I’m pourin’ you aged wine from the depths of the catacombs. ;)
In the darkest hour, light shines at its brightest.
Here’s a video mix I recently made to accompany Strange Powers” “Skeleton Key”. Happy winter solstice!

Saturday Morning Cartoon #6-“CouchFace”
Anthony Francisco Schepperd is one wicked animator of the here and now. He works independently in Flash and has an old school illustrative feel as if he was animating with cels. His animations consist of a lot of morphing similar to Bill Plympton’s work, but with a whole lot of color and maybe a splash of a hallucinogen or two. Anthony is also the wizard behind Blockhead’s ”Music Scene” video. I love this guy’s work!
